Napoleon Bonaparte once said, “Impossible is a word not in my dictionary.” While many believe this statement yet why do these “believers” encounter a lot of failures in life? What is the bottom line of success? In order for you to understand better the key to success, allow me to illustrate it first by this analogy of efficient travel:
Destination: the airport. One is travelling 2000 miles by plane and the other one is driving 100 miles by car to fetch the one arriving by plane. Their starting points are from different parts of the globe yet aiming to arrive at their target place at the same time. Both make it to their goal yet the dynamics by which they reach it vary greatly. The same is true in real life.
When your dream in life is clear and your heart is really set to attain it, how fast you fulfill it highly depend of the belief systems and values in life you choose to adopt. The speed by which you achieve your goal, quick or slow, totally depends on you.
Your chosen velocity in attaining your objective determines the amount of time and space you would have to project your next higher goals. Increasing speed enhances the harnessing of your talents and abilities which generally results in greater results and accomplishments. This is the experience of world class companies that produces globally known products with continuing growth and expansion worldwide.
Now let’s go back to our earlier story.
Driving a car to transport you to your destination is comparatively slow and uncertain. You feel you are in full control of your situation as you are the one directly managing every part of your transport process. But in doing so, you devote a lot more time and effort in reaching your goal of arriving at the airport in time to pick up your friend.
Taking the plane, on the other hand, is faster and more decisive. All you have to do is know the precise place you want to go the exact time you want to arrive. Then you totally entrust to other people with proven expertise and experience i.e. the pilots and the crew to take you to where you want to be at your given time.
There are risks in depending on someone else’s abilities to help achieve your objectives. But considering that they still have greater knowledge and experience than you, you actually have better chances of reaching your goals by tapping their expertise than doing it on your own as in the case of business outsourcing. The risk factor is lessened and you save a lot more time and energy on your part.
The car-plane illustration shows you the importance of having a decisive intention, adopting the right mindset and choosing the effective tools that will grant you the speed in achieving your goal. And the ultimate key to this success is YOU.
